“Kairos” is the Greek word for the right, critical or opportune time. Life rarely goes according to plan, and most of us know what it feels like to be stuck. My work is helping people find their way forward.
A non-judgmental space where you can say what’s actually going on.
Honest perspective and real accountability, delivered with care.
Before coaching, I spent decades as a missionary, pastor, chaplain, and counselor, each role teaching me something different about what people actually need when they’re stuck.
That experience shapes everything about how I work, as does the perspective that comes from being a husband, father, and grandfather of six. Whether you’re navigating anxiety, working through grief, rebuilding a marriage, or simply ready for the next chapter, I bring both the tools and the lived experience to help you move forward.
I believe you can’t coach whole-person health without living it. As Steven Pressfield puts it: “For us, there is no finish line.”
At 70, I’m working full time, exercising regularly, and 49 years into a marriage worth choosing again. Whole-person health isn’t a theory for me.
My approach is rooted in faith, and I welcome clients from every background. What matters most is that you’re ready to do the work.

Most people who reach out are in one of these places. All of them are good starting points.
We experience enough pain that we must change.
We gain enough understanding that we want to change.
We receive enough grace and encouragement that we can change.
The goal is to get 1% better.
Not transformed overnight. Not fixed. Just a little clearer, a little steadier, a little more yourself, and then keep building on that.
For those navigating anxiety, depression, grief, anger, or a season of personal transition.

Learn moreDuane is a person who listens to hear and not to respond. He hears to see you. So many times my words say one thing but mean so much more. He is able to see through to the heart. Duane uses the term “1% better.” He is realistic that most change does not occur overnight. But he is there to encourage and speak openly and honestly to keep you on course. His honesty truly is a gift.
Duane helped me to recognize that there was so much more beyond the rhythms that my life had settled into. His insightful counseling uncovered what was holding me back and helped identify paths forward to craft a more fulfilled life and active faith. He helped me develop skills and strategies I can continue to use when challenges cross my path, to stay true to my purpose and keep growing incrementally each day. I am so thankful for the gift of Duane’s counsel and guidance.
I was a high-task CEO that Duane nurtured and coached into seeing the world differently, and just as importantly, how taking action does change that slice of the world. I heartily recommend Duane as a caring, nurturing person who does an outstanding job helping a person become who they can be.
Duane leads with true compassion for people. He has a keen ear and an open heart to hear your individual story. His approach is consistent and grounded, but I always knew he was listening to my needs. Guidance was based on my goals and desires. I highly recommend him as a trusted coach and counselor.
