Belief Assessment

The things we quietly believe about ourselves shape nearly everything: how we feel, how we respond, and what we think is possible. Most of us have never examined them.

In the mid-1950s, Albert Ellis identified a set of beliefs that most people hold at some level, beliefs that research consistently links to anxiety, self-defeat, and emotional reactivity. The ten statements below are drawn from that work. Read each one and mark whether you agree or disagree.

As you read each statement, decide whether you agree or disagree. Go with your gut. There are no right or wrong answers.
